The Stealers

It must suck to be a Stealers fan with a concience (if one exists).  They are consitently rewarded for dirty play and given unfair opportunities by the refs.  The good news is the Willis McGahee is expected to make a full recovery from the helmet-to-helmet hit that he suffered last night.  The bad news is that there was no flag from the refs for an obvious rule violation.

Earlier in the game the refs handed the Stealers some points by calling pass interference in the end zone when there was clearly no foul (and they didn't call similar fouls against the Stealers).

I hope you're looking forward to a Superbowl where the refs do more of the same so their precious Stealers can win a seventh title.  I wonder how many they would have if the game were called according to the rules.

No wonder you are feeling angst. The team is called the "Steelers," as in steel mills. Not the "Stealers," as in thieves. Perhaps that will help. :)

The Steelers got so many gifts in their last Super Bowl, I thought it was Art Rooney's birthday.

They remind me of the San Antonio Spurs. Remember when Robert Horry cheap-shotted Steve Nash a couple years ago in the playoffs? When Amare Stoudamire came off the bench to defend him, the refs suspended Stoudamire (the team's best player) for the next game, which the Suns lost.

Watch a Spurs game and you will see they spend the entire game whining until they finally start getting calls in the 4th quarter.

Unfortunately, the bad play calling has been across the board all season long. Watch any NFL game from this past season and you will inevitably find one MAJOR blown call in every game that affects the outcome.

Case in point: The Titans game, 4th quarter, play clock has expired for more than a second when the play happens. A pivotal 3rd and 2 that quite possibly would have changed the outcome of the game. A 3rd and 2 is MUCH easier than a 3rd and 7.

The fact of the matter is, NFL are human beings and they blow calls. They do. Some things get called, some things don't, and we have to live with it. Did they miss the Willis McGahee call? Yeah, probably. But this is football, and everyone knows going in that there is danger in getting hit wrong. The joys of being tackled by concrete trucks.

So, yes, the refs suck. But we'll have to deal with it. As a Titans fan... it's the way it has always been.

Yeah, but I dislike the Stealers because they stole a superbowl from MY Seahawks.

Don't forget the Huskies!
(being a sports team from Seattle means being willing to loose)
