And the blog-role breathes a collective sigh . . .

I've refrained from making too many posts about the Seahawks this year, partly because I think I got a little carried away in 2005 and partly because I have had other things to occupy my time. But since it is the NFC divisional game in Green Bay against Matt Hasselbek and Mike Holmgren's former team - I thought it deserved a note.

ESPN reports that something like 78% of the nation expects Green Bay to win. I will agree that they have a better record and they have home field advantage - those are both formidable advantages. But the Seahawks have a more experienced squad that has played in the playoffs for the last 5 years and has been to the NFC divisional game or better in the last 3 years. If anyone knows how to scheme a defense to stop Favre it is Holmgren.

I'm not saying that it's a sure thing, but I put the odds at closer to 50/50 - I will be watching the game with some hope, but I won't be surprised at either outcome.

Go 'Hawks?
