I can't wait either. I think I liked the newer Batman movies better than the Michael Keaton ones.

YES! I didn't know the new trailer was out. While I adore Jack Nicholson, and liked the original Batman, the sequels had made the series unrespectable and cartoony. These last couple of movies are really bringing Batman back as an awesome character.

It looks like the tone of the movie has changed, at least from what it was in the first movie. He Gotham of Batman Begins seems to have been left behind for modern Los Angeles. In my book that's a bad thing. I like the realistic take on Batman, but you can't have Batman in the "real" world... Looks like they did a good job with Joker, though...

Chris Bale is the best thing since Mike Keaton.
which isn't saying much, but... it's meant to mean more than Val Kilmer and George Clooney...

My only problem with the movie is the title. When I think of Dark Knight I think of the Frank Miller graphic novels from the 80's. Mabye I just want to see Superman die for good.

Batman Begins was one of the top 3 in the genre and this looks like it won't disappoint. Heath Ledger's Joker looks truly psychotic.

Having said that, I'm starting to get burnt out with comic book movies, but as long as they keep doing them well, I'll keep watching.

I think the next step to make them interesting is to put them into the context of the larger universe (Marvel or DC) with all of the other characters running around. You know, cameos of Iron Man or the X-Men in a Hulk movie, etc.

Rich - This is based on the Frank Miller novel of the same name. It's supposed to be all dark and brooding like Miller's work.

Jake - I'm not sure I'm tired of the genre yet, but they have let a few too many stinkers through (Ghost Rider, AVP, Elektra, etc.).
