Google rocks the free world

I know I'm a nerd. You don't need to remind me. But I can't help but think that google's new map tool (linked above) is so awesome. You can type in any address or business name or location and it will map it for you and then . . . you can click on the link to get a satelite picture! It is so cool! I've spent half an hour just looking at places from space. You have to check it out - find your house, find your work, find your mom's house.

So I said all that to say - I really miss Portland. We (my wife and I) just looked at Portland from space - we looked at our old appartment, our alma matter, our honeymoon hotel, etc. Portland is a sweet city (hippies and all - Andrea just said, "Crazy hippies are a whole lot better than crazy rednecks."), and we miss it a whole freaking lot. So if you are in or arround P-town enjoy yourselves because it could be worse . . . much worse.

I'm glad you like it. We honeymooned at the Heathman Hotel next to that one theater (I can't remember now) and a Starbucks.

I did think about you, Tabitha, when I wrote the words "Crazy Hippies" - but keep in mind it was a direct quote from Andrea.

oh, and tabitha, i'd call you more of a bohemian. i've yet to see you with weed, a headband or a "s&%t happens," t-shirt. those are sure signs of hippyville.

I'm loving the satelite feature...I'm not sure that I will ever get anything done again.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who is so facinated by this.

thank you rebecca for the clarification. ond of the nicknames that my husband has for me is actually 'bohemian beauty.' so i think it all works out in the end.

what's the strangest thing any of you have looked up so far??

I have spent time looking at national monuments: The Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, Niagara Falls, etc.
